Clients and Future Clients,
Please continue reading below to find the policies, terms, and conditions, as well as the answers to some typical questions about what to expect before, during, and after your photography session.
*Failure on the client’s part to read the following information does not hold the photographer responsible for any issues that may arise before, during, or after the session.
How do I secure my chosen session date?
-Unless otherwise discussed, a non-refundable retainer fee is due by PayPal within 48 hours of scheduling to hold the chosen session date. It is not necessary for the client to have a PayPal account to make a payment. The date will not be considered “booked” until the retainer is paid.
-Please note that payment of the retainer fee is also considered an acknowledgment and acceptance of the policies, terms, and conditions listed herein. When booking a session and providing the retainer fee, the client is agreeing to all of these policies, terms, and conditions.
-Retainer fees are non-refundable but may be transferred once to a future session in the event the client needs to reschedule. In the event of multiple rescheduled sessions, an additional retainer fee may be collected prior to the date being booked.
When is the total payment due for my session?
-Unless otherwise discussed, the total remaining amount for the session (minus the retainer fee) is due in CASH at the beginning of the session. In the event of non-payment, the session may be cancelled.
Why do you ask for a model release?
-Images from each session will potentially be added to the photographer’s portfolio, website, social media, etc. and for business promotion. Because of this, every client and/or other subjects may be asked to sign a model release form, which will allow the use of any images taken during the session to further promote the photographer’s services.
*All images taken at the session are the intellectual property of the photographer, therefore the copyright of all images will remain with the photographer regardless of model release. If the client wishes to obtain a commercial license to any image(s) for reasons such as, but not limited to, financial gain, entry into a contest, publishing anywhere other than the client’s personal social media pages, etc., then the client must purchase this privilege separately.
What is your rescheduling/cancellation policy?
-Sometimes, things have to be rescheduled or cancelled, I get it!
There is no additional retainer fee required the first time if a client needs to reschedule the session, and there are no additional cancellation fees.
-Sessions that are rescheduled more than once may be subject to additional retainer fees.
-Mini sessions may be rescheduled, but themes/props are not guaranteed. Retainer fee for a rescheduled mini session may be used towards the next themed mini session OR a longer session.
-Please give at least 48 hours' notice if you need to reschedule or cancel the session when possible.
What happens if my session is cancelled by the photographer?
-In the unlikely event of cancellation by the photographer due to weather, an accident, etc., or of memory card/gear failure, liability shall be limited to a full refund of any fees paid.
*Please note- The photographer has zero tolerance for harassment and/or abusive behavior from the client and/or other subjects. If the photographer becomes uncomfortable with the client and/or other subject’s behavior at any time, the session will be terminated immediately with no guarantee of images and no reschedule, and there will be no refund of any fees paid. Additionally, the photographer also agrees to adhere to a friendly and professional manner during all communications before, during, and after the session.
What if I am late to my scheduled session?
-The client and/or other subjects should plan to arrive at the session location at least 5-10 minutes prior to the scheduled session time. There are no late fees, but for many reasons, a late arrival will usually result in less time to capture memories. The photographer will strive to provide as many images as time and cooperation allow. In the event that the photographer is unable to capture a satisfactory number of images due to the client and/or other subjects arriving late or not cooperating, the images that are captured will still be provided in an online gallery and there will be no refund or reshoot.
What happens if an accident occurs at my session?
-Any directions issued to the client and/or other subjects during the session are deemed to be performed at said person's own risk. The photographer cannot be held responsible for any personal accidents during the session.
Will there be props available during my session?
-Outdoor portraits will typically include the subject(s) only. Sometimes the photographer will offer mini sessions -sessions that are shorter in length and may include the addition of props with no extra charge.
-If the client is interested in the possibility of adding props to a 30-, 60-, or 90-minute session, please let the photographer know what you are looking for. There may be an additional fee to bring/set up props for longer sessions. The client is also welcomed to set up their own props prior to the start of the session (please let the photographer know beforehand if you plan on bringing any props of your own, and plan to have them set up prior to the start time of your session).
What if I want a specific pose, background, or look in my images?
-Every effort will be made to accommodate specific requests, but please note that requests are not considered binding agreements and there is no guarantee that certain images, poses, etc. will be delivered in the final gallery.
Will my images be edited?
-Basic edits (lighting and/or color adjustments, image straightening and/or cropping, etc.) are included with each photography session.
-Re-touches or extreme/heavy editing (removal of objects, teeth whitening, blemish removal, etc.) may be subject to additional fees depending on the amount of additional editing required. Client must make it clear to the photographer if extreme/heavy editing is preferred either before, during, or immediately following the session and prior to the start of the editing process. Any additional fees will then be calculated by the photographer, and these fees must be paid prior to the start of the editing process. Failure to make a timely payment may result in a delay in the delivery of the final gallery.
How many images will I receive in my gallery?
-A specific number of images is not guaranteed and is dependent on the cooperation of the client and/or other subjects during the session.
When will I receive my image gallery?
-Turnaround time for longer sessions varies but is usually within 4-6 weeks. Turnaround time for mini sessions is usually within 2-4 weeks. Major holidays may not be included in turnaround time, therefore, during major holidays, the turnaround time may be longer. Please contact the photographer directly to gain a more precise turnaround time for your session.
*Please note that the gallery will not be delivered until the total payment has been received. A completed gallery with a payment marked as “pending” on PayPal may be delayed until the transaction has been processed.
How will I receive my image gallery?
-A link to an online gallery will be sent to the email address provided on the model release form.
*Important- unless otherwise discussed, the gallery will only be available for download for seven (7) days following the delivery of the album link. Please download all images as soon as possible to avoid losing them. The photographer will not be held liable for any images that the client does not download in the timeframe stated above.
Once images have been downloaded, our business transaction will be considered complete. Downloading of any images is an acceptance of the editing style and overall look and appearance of the images.
There is a fee to re-upload archived images into an online gallery.
The photographer is not required to hold/save images any longer than thirty (30) days after the images are uploaded to the gallery.
I have more questions!?
-If there are any questions regarding the policies, terms, and conditions listed above, or if you have any questions about locations, wardrobe choices, etc., please ask! I want you to have the best possible experience while we make lasting memories for you or your loved ones!
